PA-30 (I/O-320 B1A) Oil Filter P/N?

Postby David Pfeffer » Mon Oct 15, 2012 12:55 pm

Could someone confirm the I/O-320 B1As on the PA-30 use a CH48110-1 oil filter? I don't have the plane here to verify.

Thank you!!

David,

FYI,

The Champion part number was changed slightly about a year ago. It now includes a dash-1 in the base number. Or in otherwords CH48110-1. The dash one means it is a new and improved filter.

I my opinion, I think Champion changed it because they now have the Tempest brand as a competitor. Before that they didn't have any competition. The was also an article written in Aviation Consumer magazine about oil filters about a year ago. That is another reason why I'm lead to believe Champion added the dash one to thier products. FWIW.
