low CHT on cyl #6

I have a JPI EDM 700 installed on my 260 and cylinder number six at cruise is only reading 200ish degrees while everything else is running 350s. is i possible the sensor is bad or can the cylinder be running so cold? the EGT is running the same temps as the rest.

Dear Jason,

Jpi's are usually pretty accurate. I don't believe your number six could be that much cooler than the rest. A way to check the probe is to switch it with any of the other probes and see if the cool cylinder follows the switched probe. Check back after that experiment.

Jason,

I agree with Skip on checking. If the low temp stays with the cylinder - it can also be a placement issue. Recently had the exhaust stacks overhauled which caused all the EGT holes to be re-drilled. Same engines, no other changed but the EGTs on the JPI became much more consistent due to the more consistent distance to the cylinders.
