Need a good used O-360-A1A

Cracked center main bearing web
Hi Comanche Flyers;
I just tore down the bottom end of my trusty O-360-A1A engine thinking all I needed to do was re seal a few things due to a persistent oil leak. However, the tear down revealed a cracked center bearing web, an old style camshaft, the crank needs to be reground and the lifter bodies are no longer serviceable.
Therefore I'm in the market for a serviceable used--with good history--O-360 A1A engine. Does anyone have one, or can anyone point me to where I can get one?

Steve,

That is a bit of bad luck. I trust you have checked with DivCo and confirmed that they can't repair in that area. Are there any other engine models using the same basic case? Charlie Melot at Zephyr might help with that. It would be good if there were other dash number engines that would work as it might make it easier to find an engine.

Hi Kristin;
I've just started my search. Got a lot to learn yet. Only seems to be two engines on the TCDS for the PA 24. And I can't find any STCs for engine upgrades.
I suppose I could add a post to the forum requesting field approvals for engine changes but I'm not really interested in re inventing my PA 24, just wanna get back in the air.
Turns out there is a lot more wrong with my trusty Lyc than just the cracked web. Glad I tore it down when I did. They are tough engines, that's for sure.

Have checked with the better known salvage yards that buy complete airplanes, Wentworth, Preferred Airparts, Dallas Air Salvage (Lough's place). Or look at Piper Flyer advertisers (hahaha).
