Fuel Servo Cost

Fuel Servo Cost

Postby Richard Bell » Wed Mar 23, 2011 3:29 pm

During my annual inspection a couple of weeks ago, the mechanics detected a fuel leak on the fuel servo. It was sent away to be repaired, (don't have the name of the repair facility on hand).

I just talked to my the lead mechanic. He was told by the fuel servo repair people that the servo is unrepairable. He told me that the last one he replaced was around $2700.00, which had been rebuilt. He said that a replacement could be even more expensive. Of course all this on top of the cost for the annual.

I guess my question is, does the cost sound reasonable for the servo?

I have a PA-24-260C Comanche. Engine is a IO-540-NLA5

Thanks,

Dick

Dick:

Give Kelly Aerospace a quick call and ask for a quote. Kelly lists the engine for the PA-24 as a IO-540-R1A5, and the servo part number 2524459-9, servo model number RSA-5AD1. When you call just make sure the model numbers are correct for your engine.
At least you will get an idea. Number is 877 fly kelly.

Dear Richard,

Curious as to how that finally came out. Just wondering. Let us know.
