Hi Don,
I noticed I wrote "transmission oil filter funnel". I meant transmision oil funnel it is long and slender. I trimmed it lenghth wise thin enough to slide under the oil filter. The filter will lay across the funnel under it not lenghth wise under the filter. Hope this helps.

Elliot,
I have a very easy way to contain the oil spill from the filter. What you do is take an empty quart oil container and with a scissor or razor cut the face of the container around the label thereby leaving a half inch rim around the container. Leaving the cap on you then place the container under the filter before removal, and you can catch any oil spill from the filter. On my plane it wedges in perfecty without having to hold it while you're removing the filter.
