Passenger door locks on a pa24-250 (1962)

Postby Randy Johnson » Thu Dec 18, 2014 10:41 pm

Does the passenger door lock button block the door handle from pulling up and opening if it's in the down and locked position...

Or does the door handle push the door lock button up and open when the handle is pulled up if the knob is in the down and locked position?
Thanks

Randy,
I don't know if it is the same on your '62 250, but on my '66 260B, the button blocks the door handle from opening. You have to pull the button up to unlock the doorhandle before you can operate the door handle to the open position. Hope this helps,

On my 1968 PA-30B it's the same as Joe describes. One twist.. I find the lock easier to pull up if I first push down (just lightly) on the door handle as if I'm trying to close the door. This seems to relieve some mechanical pressure and makes the lock easy to pull up and then I can open the door.
