260C AirBox/Baffling Question

260C AirBox/Baffling Question

Postby Dennis Boykin » Mon Sep 16, 2013 5:25 pm

My 260C is coming out of overhaul and the airflow divider on top of the right side cylinders isn't matching up neatly with the front panel of the air filter box. Come to find out, that part (the front of the box that leads into the air filter) is pretty badly cracked, and bent backwards, so a fair amount of air that should go through the cylinders (to cool them) isn't.....

In the image below, you're looking over top of #5 cylinder into the air filter. The top cowl and airflow divider have been removed.

We're looking at replacing this part, but was wondering if anyone had done that before. It appears to be tack welded to the air filter assy, and a good sheet metal guy can probably make a new one, but I was hoping someone had done this before.

Thanks,

Dennis
