Rudder Balance Weight Arm Cracks

Postby Leonard Bleininger » Wed Apr 23, 2014 10:59 pm

Per the April Flyer a PA-30 out of Australia found cracks in the counter weight mount. Has anyone looked at the PA-24 for this problem?

Huh, missed that. Counter weight arms for what part of the aircraft?

Hello Pat
The balance weights refered to are the rudder balance weights.
The cracks were discovered when the owner removed the plastic rudder cap for replacement and discovered a broken counter weight mount.

Ah, thanks. I inspected mine when the paint job was done at the suggestion of Hans Neubert and all was OK.
