Piano hinge - main cabin door

Hi all sort of a newbie here. I asked on the Airworthy Forum if anyone has information and preferably paperwork for the installation of a piano hinge (Mooney style) in place of the two hinges on the main cabin door. One poster mentioned this might have been offered as a field mod in an early ICS tip book?
