pilot side footwell - question

Postby ray burton » Fri Sep 04, 2015 12:26 am

I am about to buy a 1959 Piper Comanche 250 and noticed something that looked odd to me - behind the rudder pedals on he pilot side, the control cables are exposed as tey run vertically from behind the instrument panel through the floor. It appears there is no cover panel over them - but the copilot side has some sort of cover panel at the base of the floor board that seems to be off the firewall by a few inches.

Is this normal? I don't know what to call what I think is a missing piece, so it has been hard to research this - any help would be appreciated.

Yup. Normal. thought it was weird on my Twin too so I had a sheet of metal made.

Remember to get a pre-buy by an experienced Comanche shop and take the CPPP course and get the Taylor DVDs
