The Comanche Manual advises the stabilator trim tab is removed by straightening the bent over hinge pins and pulling them out. Great advice...but ours are made of brittle hard material that does not straighten enough to allow the pin to be pulled "endo". The stabilator and trim tab structures adjacent to the assembled pins preclude the needed access for bending tools, and at this point I see the only option is an extremely small grinder to cut the pin off.....The adjacent structure locations make this a risky procedure. Hope someone has advice on this problem ????
The manual also advises to replace with new pins. Any sources ?? Thanks Al Powers N88AP
