Landing gear solenoid question.

Landing gear solenoid question.

Postby mcgoughman » Sat Apr 18, 2015 7:42 pm

1964 comanche 250. Found a bad landing gear solenoid and ordered a new one from Webco. Received a 24 volt intermittent solenoid kit. The paoer work has two supercessions that result in Athens 24v solenoid.

Can anyone verify or comment on the use of the 24v solenoid as a replacement for the original?

I would not expect a 24V coil to operate properly on 12V.

Talked to my IA and we decided to install a PMA 12V intermittent solenoid. I will return the piper replacement kit. Gear checks out ok now.

Thanks :D
