Altimatic III AD70-15-18

Does anyone know if the Altimatic III is listed as optional factory equipment for the Twinco? Rebuilding log records. AD70-15-18 (applicable to the Altimatic III installed in my plane) is only applicable if the unit was installed under an STC. I don't have any STC paperwork in the logs, but also can't find a TCDS to prove it was indeed listed as optional equipment from Piper. I'm assuming it was, but assuming always makes me look like an...

What year is your plane? It was an option starting sometime early in the production, but I think that the original was the Altimatic II or Autocontrol II. Chances are, if you have an Altimatic III, it was installed by the factory. The factory original equipment list would tell you that.

I have an Altimatic III. My bird is a 1968 "B" model. To the best of my knowledge its factory OEM equipment.
