Hole in wing root where landing gear cable goes through

Is there a boot used or can it be taped closed?

No stock boot I know of, but I've duct taped my twin til can get around to making sheet metal ones like I did for the single.
(Actually the duct tape has held up thru 160 hours between annuals.)

For sheet metal, just cut out the approx' shape, drill a hole in center big enough for a grommet to go around cable housing, split the SM in from aft side to the hole so you can get it over the cable. Then you can trim the rough shape to fit where you want to fasten it, and go from there.

One thing to consider... if using sheet metal consider the type. Corrosion can result when dissimilar types of metals come into contact.
