Postby citationbravo » Wed Dec 17, 2008 7:19 pm

Does anyone know approximately how much it costs to have the horizontal stabilator reskinned???? I'm thinking of having it re-skinned due to very light hail damage....Thinking of dueing the same for the airlerons...Thanks in advance-Nick :D

Nick,

Had a part of my stab done at Webco during an annual - beautiful job. Philip did the work in 2007.

An FBO once damaged an aileron - took twice to get it right.

Having just done the paint project - be sure whoever removes and installs the stab has the current maintenance manual so the control surface balances are done correctly - it varies by model of twin.

Nick,

Aileron done by FBO under insurance so no idea - will have to try to find the annual invoice although I doubt there will be a solo line item that accurately reflects the stab work. Knowing the Webco environment after 2 annuals there, I suspect not all costs are included. I continue to be very happy with their work, expertise and attitude.

Apparently the 07 annual bill is paid but somewhere in the infamous to-be-filed stack. Like most folks, I'd rather be flying than filing. Sorry I can't be of more help. Why don't you call Webco and ask for a quote. http://www.webcoaircraft.com/

Nick;

Williamsairmotive reskined my stabilator several years ago and did a fine job. But to be fair , and I do not have the bill handy, it would be best to call or e-mail them for an up todate price. By the way they also did AOPA's "Win-A-Twin" a few years back.

Recommendation for Aileron Re-Skin

Postby N8349P » Tue Dec 23, 2008 11:53 pm

I had Flight Controls LLC in Columbus Ohio re-skin an aileron about a year ago. Did a perfect job for $1100.00 BTW: shipping will be pretty expensive. FIgure ~ $150 each way.
