Help identifying this box

Postby Andrew Fay » Wed Sep 11, 2013 3:11 pm

Hey everybody,

I've got this clearance recorder in my airplane that I would like to remove. The trouble is, that every wire in the entire airplane seems to pass through this thing and I can't find any info in the logbooks, equipment list, or even a name on the box as to who built is so that I can get a pinout to get this thing removed.

Any guesses as to who built this thing, a pinout, or anything?

Andrew,
Fwiw, I think what you are looking at is the remains of a radio junction box. It is on pg 3B13 of the pa24 parts manual. If you have another audio panel, you may have a bunch of wires that are going nowhere out of this box. I am familiar after I did a panel upgrade a couple years ago. There is also a piece of plastic trim that normally covers the area in your picture. Hope this helps.
