Mounting a Mini Ipad

As a new Comanche 260b owner I'm trying to find out ideas for mounting my mini Ipad. I have the ram mount but as everyone here knows the yoke shafts are too big for the clamp to fit around. I tried looking to see if ram makes bigger clamps that are compatible with the ram spring mount holder and the four or six inch extension but I haven't seen any. I have the rams horn piper control wheels. I have seen an ad for a bungee style mount that wraps around the control wheel on Cessna's but I don't know if they make something that'll work with my setup. I don't like keeping my Ipad on my knee as I like keeping my head up looking out as much as possible. Any ideas or solutions would be greatly appreciated.

Yes... you want the RAM Beech Yolk Mount. Specifically you want "RAM Mounts V Shape Base with 1in Ball for Rails and Yokes RAM-B-108B". Here is a link to it on Amazon...

Like our Comanches, Beechcraft have larger diameter yolk columns and this was RAM's solution. Based on the specs I expect this to work. I ordered this so that I could mount my iPad mini on my PA-30 yolk. In truth it is still in the office at the hangar not yet installed in the plane as I'm in the middle of some major maintenance right now but I expect to have in installed on the yolk in the coming weeks.

We have the Beech Yoke mount for our RAM mount. Once everything is tightened up, holds the iPad mini firmly. Biggest drawback is the iPad moves with the yoke.

We tried using the Ram suction adapter with both the lower instrument panel and pilots side window. We felt neither of these was acceptable as the iPad mini was difficult to read in those positions.

I am doing something similar. I purchased an OtterBox cover. The outer removable sheild will be mounted to my yoke. The original piper emblem was ruined by the PO who riveted through it. I Removed it and will use the two holes in the yoke which mount the emblem for two locating pins. Adding some shim material to adjust the ipad angle and some Velcro straps will finish it up. Will take pics later but it has the advantage of using a cover as many other mounts will not facilitate this. The ipad will simply snap in place.
