CHT GAUGE

CHT GAUGE

Postby Gus » Mon Dec 05, 2011 6:05 pm

I had an EI engine monitor installed in my 250. It monitors the EGT,CHT, OAT, etc.etc.etc. When it was installed I was told the factory CHT gauge had to remain in the panel. I thought I had read a thread somewhere in here about it but cant seem to find it now. I want to install a more reliable fuel gauge in its slot.

Gus, the EI STC should tell you whether it can act as a primary instrument replacement.

For my Twin, a JPI 760 cannot because the FAA requires that CHT temp be constantly displayed if the plane has cowl flaps - the JPI760 cycles through displays.

Hope this helps.
