Here are some photos I took while flying from Santa, N.M. to the Grand Canyon airport, KGCN, last February. We were on our way to Glendale Arizona and stopped for lunch at the lodge and a quick look at the canyon. The lodge is only about a 20 minute taxi ride from the airport. The food was surprisingly good. The runway is almost 9,000 feet long with an elevation of 6,600 feet. It was a warm and windy day. We had the plane loaded down pretty well. I am not sure how much runway we used on departure but it was a good bit more than I am used to back in the east. On climb out it was like we were in slow motion. I think for a lunch stop this one is at the top of my list.
