260C Heater

260C Heater

Postby TBusch86303 » Fri Mar 17, 2017 3:50 pm

Heater boxes - especially pilot side - extremely hot to the point of melting air lines to AOA indicator that pass nearby. Suspect on/off valve leaking to the cabin instead of exhausting completely overboard when heat is turned off. Tried fixing valve with baffling material to seal valve when closed and prevent hot air from getting into the cabin, but problem still there. Put a restrictor plate at the entrance to heater box so volume of air reaching the on/off valve is reduced . Somewhat successful. Any "C" owneres having this issue and a resolution? (The system is different from 250/260/260B models)

I dont have a certain remedy for your melting issue, but I can say that my C model's heater gets ridiculously hot as well! You can try opening the fresh air/vent to try and cool the system with unheated air flow I think?
