PA24-180 POH with all Speeds

PA24-180 POH with all Speeds

Postby Paul Michel Fenouil » Sun Dec 01, 2013 8:02 am

Hello,
To put markings on a new Air Indicator for a PA24-180, I need a POH with all speeds, including Vso and Vs1.
On my old french POH Vso and Vs1 are stupidly inverted (so Vso is greater than Vs1 !).
I read on this forum that the "Kellogh POH" indicates all speeds, but did not find it on the web.

Thanks for your help.

The correct speeds/marking are listed in the TCDS that can be downloaded from the FAA free.

If they are not in the TCDS then they don't have to be on the indicator. I think the bottom of the white arc corresponds with the power off stall speed.

Not sure if this helps you, but this is what I used when I bought a new airspeed indicator for my 180 about a year ago.

Green arc: 67mph-159mph
White Arc: 60mph-125mph
Yellow Arc: 159mph -204mph (159-188 if the rudder balance weights are not installed)
Red Line: 204mph (188mph if you do not have the rudder balance weights installed)

As for a copy of the POH with all the speeds, the ICS POH for the 180 has them all listed on the second page of the limitations section. It lists Vso as 61mph IAS and Vs1 as 68mph IAS

Hope this helps a little.

AIRCRAFT SPECIFICATION NO. 1A15
Why Vno (Maximum Structural Cruise) for 250 is 180 mph (156 knots)
and for 180 it is 160 mph (139 knots)? It is the same airframe isn't it?
Thank you,
Sergei
