My FBO was towing the old boy and cut a turn to hard and broke my upper front landing gear scissor, any one have any idea were to order a new one?....

When you say the upper scissor, what specifically are you referring to? What usually breaks is the main strut casting. If you are referring to the torque links themselves, I would almost guarantee that you have more damage than just the torque link.

If they broke the scissor, that is probably the least of your problems unfortunately. You will need an upper trunion, possibly a lower trunion, probably new bolts and possibly a new stearing arm and possibly a rebuild of the lower supports of the engine mount. You will also need to inspect the steering push rods as well as the rudder pedel torque tubes, a thorough inspection of all rudder cables and pullies including verifying cable tension. Last but not least remove the rudder and then remove the rudder horn. Verify the rudder is not damaged at the attache point on the lower rib, and make sure the rudder horn is not bent. If it broke the scissor (torque link) you did much more damage elsewhere, and finding it on their dime would be important at this point.

That is the torque link that is broken. Matt at Comanche Gear (239-404-7524) might have one. From the picture, as best as I can tell through the dirty grease, the strut housing and the inner tube is also damaged. This can be repaired by Bruce at S&B Industries (801-261-4076). I would also bet that the bolts that hold the steering arm on top of the nose gear assembly are sheared off. Bruce can probably fix that as well. The best strategy is to call Bruce on Monday. Likely he will have you ship him the nose gear strut assembly, sans wheel, and he will make it right. If you have slop in the drag links, you could send him those too, though that is not part of the damage that the FBO should be paying for. A good inspection the steering mechanism will be necessary as well.

The lower trunion is missing a chunk, new kid line man turn way over the limit when moving the plane, FBO would cover, I would have my ap going through Zacks list and hope for best.

I have never seen a broken nosegear that bad in my life. I think you will find a lot more damage. The steering bar that is attached to the nose gear has probably sheared. Make sure that they use the correct bolts to reattach it. There is a service bulliten to replace the standard bolts with high strength bolts.

So sorry for this problem.

Like many folks, the nose stops were found to be broken - nothing like yours though. We got them repaired and now I don't let anyone, except the husband move the aircraft without me being present because even thought people will pay for the repairs - it is you who loses the use of the aircraft.

...oh, and I trust the folks at Clifton Aero to move it.

Because I can't always be around when an FBO might move my plane, I photograph the condition of the nose gear stops so I can prove that if it is broken, that the FBO is responsible.

After repairing my nose trunion twice, I have adopted your policy.
Always photograph and threaten the lives of anyone who touches the airplane if it happens again.
As for S&B Industries, I highly recommend them. They do a fantastic job.

My A&P is going to start working on the plane tomorrow he say it may be done by the end of the week, funny thing I just got all new control cables on the plane 2 months ago
So far the FBO is owning it in a very impressive way, keep fingers cross

so far only damage upper lower trunnion and torque link, steering arms and engine mounts are ok, tomorrow checking ruder horn and control cables, ( they din't have the keys to get inside to remove interior to check cables, YUP i lock the old boy up every time )

i may have the old boy ready to fly to San Antonio this weekend not looking forward to drive

The tube from the strut is bent, the 3 mounting bolts are bad also, have a small play on steering arms but could be due the bolts being gone, once we put all together tomorrow will get last words steering arms. Control cables pulleys and rudder horn are ok.
