History of N64400

Postby IO720 » Tue Jul 02, 2013 2:39 pm

I purchased N64400 in June of 2000. It's original N# was N8461P. I changed it to N64400 a while later. In 2003, I had an idea to write a letter to, who I thought was, the original owner of the plane by referencing the log books. I used the white pages of the telephone directory to find the address of LeRoy Gillet in Billings, Montana. I sent the letter out in the blind, not knowing if the address was still good, if it was the correct Mr. Gillet, or even if Mr. Gillet was still alive. About a month later, I received this letter in reply. I keep the original copy of this letter in the airplane's log books as part of it's history for whoever owns it after me.

I posted this on the other forum as well. I thought you might find this interesting.
