Landing lights

Landing lights

Postby Duane Bolin » Fri Jul 03, 2009 5:41 pm

I have had my 180 for two years and finally had a landing light burn out. I have a pulse light system for the aircraft, and I fly with it activated all the time. I purchased a GE 4509 bulb for repalcement, but when I removed the old bulb I found it to be a GE H7604. I don't have the information for the pulse light, but thought maybe the 50W Halogen bulb ( the original 4509 bulb is 100W) was required for this installation due to circuit requirements etc. I am purchasing new GE H7604 bulbs for replacement and now I wonder if they are autorized for instillation.
Does anyone else use this bulb on the comanche

The H7604 has the same light output as the 4509 bulb, on half the Wattage. On singles, the use of the H7604 is preferred over the 100 watt bulbs. Yes it is an acceptable bulb as it draws less power, uses original mount, and is a better light. And yes, depending on the pulse light model, the H7604 is the called for bulb.
