Throttle Quadrant Plastic

Throttle Quadrant Plastic

Postby Scott Ducey » Fri Sep 05, 2008 2:39 pm

I am looking to replace the plastic that surrounds the throttle quadrant with the placards. My mechanic tells me he saw a twin with one that was aluminum or metal. Does anyone know where I can find one? I know webco has the plastic one.

Thanks.

What year airplane? I would be interested in a new one for the 1969 and new version, if you find a source.

There are no new parts to buy, only used. Some years ago I bought one from Webco and kept the old one to be used as a mold for a fiberglass replacment.

I bought one from Webco recently for my PA30, for $81 including shipping and stick-on placard. Like a lot of the plastic parts I have ordered in the past, it needs a lot of trimming and tweaking to make it fit, including cutting out the spaces for the throttle, prop and mixture levers. I have been too daunted so far to tackle it, but it doesn't look like an easy task.....

I would love to have a light aluminum one made if anyone finds a source!

For what it is worth, I also bought that part from Webco, and I let my mechanic do the work associated with the cutting and the trimming. While the part only cost $80, the labor was a multiple of that to install it. I believe the price was over $500.
