PA-30B Heater fuel flow

Postby John Cortelyou » Sat Nov 15, 2014 2:09 am

Hope I am posting right as I am a new member. I have a twin comanche, PA-30B, with a Janitrol heater and I have not been able to find the fuel flow for the heater in the POH. Can anyone give tell me appox how much fuel the heater will burn per hour?

Thanks,
John

My 1970 PA39 also has janitrol and it burns 1.0 off the right fuel line with a range of 0.5-1.5. Shadin fuel computer showed this variance during the heater test at annual this week.

Did this from memory and then verified. My POH is with the plane but we keep the Killough POH at home and it is in section 7 page 7-7 in prose third paragraph in heater section.

Hope this helps.

and WELCOME to owning a fine airplane.

John,
My PA-30B with Janitrol heat and Shadin shows .5gal burn regularly, so that's what I figure on after 24 yrs. In fact that's
the fuel flow increase I look for on the Shadin to confirm the heater has come online.
