Webco Gear Conduits

Webco Gear Conduits

Postby James Turner » Mon Oct 28, 2013 8:38 pm

Hi All,

OK here's the situation for all of you considering a new set of gear conduits.

I have been waiting for my set for quite a while. I just spoke to Philip at Webco and he tells me that they are waiting for 19 more orders of conduits before they are willing to place the manufacturing order. Without a concerted effort on our parts this could take quite some time.

I think the experts would agree that all Comanche owners should either have a new set ready to be installed or have a new set already installed!

So we need to spread the word far and wide. Give Webco a call, speak to Phillip on (316) 283 7929 and place your order. Price is ~$400 or so each. You don't need to pay until the conduits are delivered. Do it today! ;-)) Even if you are planning to sell your aircraft it will be much more attractive with a new (or spare) set of conduits.

Seriously though, 19 more orders? We can do this in a week...

Cheers,

James.

James,

Heartily agree with you. We put in a set before paint in 2007. You should author something for the Flyer.

Hi Pat,

If I can get 19 (actually now 17) more orders I will indeed.

Come on everyone get your orders in!!!

Does Matt Kurke (comanchegear.com) have any in stock?

I agree every Comanche in the fleet should be replacing the conduit as well as the wiring harnesses!!!

Hi Matt,

No, Matt Kurke doesn't have any in stock. There is a discussion going on at the Delphi site about this issue. It seems that Webco are having problems with the quality control of the conduits from the manufacturer since the manufacturer changed hands a while ago.

So it seems that it is not quite as simple as getting 19 more orders in but certainly if we all get our orders in it will go to reinforce how critical the supply of conduits is to ongoing Comanche airworthiness.

To boil it down, in my opinion, this is a significant issue as all Comanche's will require new conduits sooner or later (preferably sooner) and at present (and for the foreseeable future) you can't get them...

Bright ideas welcome...

Cheers,

James.

I'm in for a set I just need to call Webco to place the order. I think on my TC 1 conduit is an original and the other has been replaced 15 years ago.

Great work!

I bet Webco is wondering what on earth is going on...

We must be down to around 13 required now?

James.

Hi George,

No worries.

Did Philip say anything to confirm or otherwise that if we get the numbers Webco will indeed place the order?

Cheers,

James.

I wonder where the orders stand at Webco? Has anyone inquired lately on the conduits?

I spoke with John at Webco today and he said the production is 16 weeks away for the gear conduits, due to the back log of other production runs. g

I called Webco a couple of weeks ago to order a set of conduits. They told me "the list is full," and put me on the waiting list for the next order or any declines on this order.
