Hartzell composite spinners

Hartzell composite spinners

Postby Quint Van Deman » Thu Dec 06, 2012 5:28 pm

Fellow ICS members--

I discovered a crack in my fairly new (50 hr, 9 month) Hartzell Top Prop spinner a few days ago. Thankfully, Hartzell is honoring their warranty & shipping me a new one at no cost. The only trick is that they are replacing the metal ones with painted composite ones. Has anyone else installed one of these newer Hartzell composite spinners? If so, have any pics that you could share?

Thanks,

-Quint

In case anyone is faced with the same decision in the future, here it is installed. Cost was about $145 to have it painted & installed (primed spinner was covered under warranty).

Hi Quint,

I have an original 260B with a fiberfglass spinner which is coming to end of its useful life. I know you didn't pay for your spinner, but any idea on the cost? And do you have a model # so I can talk to Hartzel about a new one?

Thanks, Don

Don--

The replacement part number is 103585, but unfortunately I did not discuss any notion of price with them. I've also attached the full SB that covers their conversion from the metal spinners to the composite ones for your reference. Good luck.
