TRICKLE CHARGE BATTERY

TRICKLE CHARGE BATTERY

Postby Todd Skalsky » Wed May 18, 2011 4:10 am

Hi all,

I have a battery that will not stay charged for more than a couple of weeks. The battery was installed new 3 months ago. Is there an easy way to install a way to keep a trickle charger to the battery? This is on my 61 250.

Thanks,

Something is wrong/draining your battery. I would look for anything that was hotwired to the battery such as a clock, radio memory circuit, something else that shouldn't be there. Also if you didn't have the problem before the new battery, then I would say you got a bad battery, and it should be able to be replaced under warranty. Short of that, it is pretty easy to wire up some terminals and run the wires out of the battery box forward to the luggage compartment. Use a Deans type connector (available at the local hobby shop) so you don't get a short and that saves you pulling the access panel to plug it in. This is strictly unapproved so your milage may vary.
