Can I ask the ICS leaders whether there is any chance of the ICS / Kilough POH/AFM being released in PDF format so that it can be loaded on to a Tablet together with Airfield Charts (currently available) so that we have the start of an Electronic Flight Bag fo the Comanches?

You can ask. I believe that Don Nelson would be the one. His phone is 360 332 2743. A problem may be how one would be charged for the download. Probably have to come with hard copy purchase. There are multiple versions of the manual depending on your model Comanche.

As long as you don't distribute it, I believe that would come under fair use. I don't see any difference between that and copying a song from a CD you own onto your iPod for listening on the road.

Funny thing about the copyright... I just recently brought my copy of the Killough POH to kinkos to be scanned and they refused to do it because of the copyright all over the text. After a drawn out and frustrating conversation with the manager explaining that i already owned it and just wanted to view it electronically i decided to bring it to the Staples copy center and had it scanned there instead for approximately $50.

Just had an inquiry from Webco on a member that was buying a POH and wanted to know about getting an electronic version to dowload to his ipad.

My answer was that we aren't at this time prepared to sell an electronic version, but, as Kristin also says, one can scan and copy it electronically. Just don't distribute it.

I'll take it up with the Board this w/e, as to whether we should sell an electronic version.

Its not that difficult to scan and save in the PDF format but can be time consuming.
