Losing Electrical Power

Losing Electrical Power

Postby Rick Greer » Tue Jun 25, 2013 10:51 am

I'm having a real issue with electrical power. On approach a couple of weeks ago I lost electrical to the point gear motor would not operate (no fuses blown). I replaced the alternator and cleaned the connection at the battery and box, ground and positive connection. I'm a little worried with the fact I replaced an alternator. There's not suppose to be one without an STC, right? Anyway, still no electrical. My A&P and I figure it must be the voltage regulator? Tried Quality Aircraft Accessories, Spruce, and Webco for a Motorola p/n A-153-C voltage regulator (that's what's on it now) they did not have one. Any ideas?

Or you can replace with a zeftronics regulator which is electronic. Chief and Spruce carry them.

I had a similar issue a year or so ago and it turned out to be the master solenoid at the battery . Dave B
