Main Gear Door

Main Gear Door

Postby Tim Puliz » Mon Sep 23, 2013 3:16 am

MAIN GEAR DOOR:
Dear fellow Comancheros: After doing some slow, search and rescue flying in moderate turbulence with my landing gear down I noticed that I lost my right side main gear door. Does anyone know where I can purchase one?

Sincerely,
Tim Puliz

Try this. I just got the whole RH landing gear from this seller was in good shape.

Thanks William for the quick response. It looks like the part I need. I'm going to have my mechanic check the eBay post in the morning and probably bid on it.

I'm not sure what model Comanche you have, but we have a 1967 PA30 parts plane. Both gear doors are good. If interested you can call me at 206 283 9996 or email ahpowers@aol.com.

Hi Al,
Thanks for the reply. I have a 1963 PA-30. I was able to buy the Main Gear Door a couple of days ago from Earl Jarman, via eBay. It should arrive next week. I am definitely going to keep your email address in my contact list now that I know that you have a PA-30 that you are parting out. This International Comanche Society has been a wealth of information and resources for me due to people like you.

All main gear doors are the same part number on singles and twins.

My pleasure to try to help Tim. Learned this when one of the doors on the Twin went and I didn't like what was available. Got a nice one from an Alaskan 250 via eBay. I suspect that the constant prop wash ages Twin main doors faster than singles.

If you want a new old stock door, I have one remaining.

Matt,
Thanks for the response. I have the gear door at my mechanic's hanger now. It seems to be the right part. It's good to know I have some options in the future.
