EDM-700 install on IO-540

Any lessons learned to share on installing a JPI EDM-700 with fuel flow on an IO-540 in a 260B?

Where in the fuel line did you place the transducer? (i.e. how long are the individual hoses installed?)

Can I replace the factory EGT guage with the EDM-700?

I don't have an avionics master switch. Should I install a separate fuse/switch for the 700? Suggestions?

I don't want to reinvent the wheel, so any suggestions/pictures are appreciated.

Go to the JPI site and they have downloads for the installation manuals
http://www.jpitech.com/pilotguide.php I would think it should tell you the fuel hoses lengths/locations

I'm pretty sure the EGT was an option and not a mandatory instrument from the factory on the type certificate so replacing it with the 700 should be ok

I would install some sort of circuit protection(fuse/breaker)

No need to put it on a switch. It does need a breaker however. EGT is not required instrumentation on any Comanche. Your FF guage is required because you are injected so do not remove that for the JPI. The STC has specific instructions as to how to mount the transducer. Follow them! You will need to make up hoses, and may need to measure and have them custom made to fit your specific routing (the directions are not THAT specific as they allow for differences in installs and years). You will love the JPI.

First, make sure to have good electrical connections but make sure that they are not stressed.
Make sure to have good earth.
Keep the flow transducer as far as you can from the servo's inlet.
Install a correct size fuse (I think 3amps.) mine was fitted with incorrect value which caused problems.
