337 for Ram Yokes Part Number 43871 or 43052

Postby 8266Y » Mon Jun 23, 2008 12:54 am

Hey Nate,

There is not a STC for the yokes. If you look at the Piper parts book, it references a replacement yoke that was used on the later Comanche's. The replacement yoke does not feel as comfortable to me as the Navaho yokes I have. The Navaho yokes I have came off a PA31-310. I know on later Navaho's they used a larger ram yoke. The ones I have look perfect in the Comanche! Our local FAA FISDO rep came by the shop and looked at them in the plane. He has agreed to sign off on a 337 (I was at the point of hiring a DER to get the 337 done). I should be back flying very soon!
Thank you,

Randy, sorry about that, i meant to say a copy of the 337 that your going to use.

I'm gonna call webco tomarrow and see if I can also get a set of yokes like you did. Glad to hear the conversion has gone smoothly for you.

Could you please post the 337 or e-mail it privately. I would like to see the differences of the log book write up in my aircraft.

Thank You,

Jeff Aryan

The Navajo and Cheyenne yokes are a bit wider [approx 1-1/8"] and angled differently at the top, probably to clear the open vent window when the yoke is fully-aft and rotated CCW. I've had both on my 400 and of course the Cheyenne is my favorite. I may have some Navajo yokes on the way from a salvage purchase.

One other source we are forgetting about for these is the Aztec. They use the same yolk as the Comanche for all the E and F models (not sure prior models). Might be worth expanding the search a bit.

Looks like we may never see a copy of it.
It would sure help a few of us out if you could possibly post a copy of it.
