Removing the door handle

I had to replace a door lock today, i was able to do it without removing the door handle and just rotating the side panel to gain access to the lock, however in a few weeks I'm going to be removing the interior for a recover and i'm going to need to remove the door handle.

I thought i read somthing about it in the tips section on the website but i couldn't find it again. How do you remove that thing?? Was i missing somthing simple?
