Stupid question about membership renewal

Stupid question about membership renewal

Postby Effie Andree Wiltens » Mon Jan 18, 2010 5:33 pm

Hello! I want to renew my membership, sign up for 2 years.
I do NOT have a credit card, but can pay with PayPal.

Q1. Is this possible?
Q2. where is the renewal of membership page on the website?
Q3. Can my friend and co-owner of N90VK become an associate member?

Thanks to anyone who can give me the appropriate link!

Member Renewal

When in doubt call Village Press who is responsible for renewals. Number in the FLYER. Question is do they take Euros? The associate question is easy. Spousal membership is at half price. If not a "spouse" lie.

Whose On First?

Postby David Pyle » Tue Jan 19, 2010 3:52 am

Whose On First? Old joke routine by the Laurel & Hardy comedy team.

At present I am the last person on too many of these ICS posts and I am not even a member in good standing. Well, I am a member. Anyone who wants can knock me off the subject discussion, and I will gladly pass and be forgotten.

Might even be nice to hear from an officer of ICS.

Hi Don,

Thanks for your reply and your extension while I sort out the payment.
As I said before, I do not have a credit card.

You say I can renew via the website. OK, but where is the renewal page? Or is this the same page as the initial membership page? Could you clear this up for me? Give me a link, perhaps?

BTW, I'm glad that the site still works for me. That way, we can clear this silly thing up.

question about membership renewal

Postby Don Nelson » Wed Jan 20, 2010 5:11 pm

Hi webmaster Dave,
Can you help Effie (ICS 17019) out? Others may like that too.

They want to renew for two years via PayPal, but website doesn't show that yet, and also don't have or don't like the credit card option.

Failing that, I've suggested they renew twice on the website, and I'll refund the savings thru Paypal. (I think I can, else we could give credit for additional months.)

BTW, in this case they maybe don't see the pop up menu "Login" or "Renew" when a cursor is put over the "Login" button on upper left of the website Home page?

Wonder if the Renew option couldn't also pop up under "Members" at top?

Thanks,
Don Nelson,
Treasurer

For some reason, I didn't get the "renew" but the "initial signup" page. Not having a site map made it difficult to renew. I didn't need new ICS number, signup thingies etc., I just wanted to renew!

Fortunately the issue is resolved now, I've been able to get to the "renew" page and now I renewed -- twice.

Thanks Don and Dave for helping me stay in the ICS!

I think it is a good idea to make it possible for one-year members to choose between one-year and two-year renewals. As an aside, what kind am I now to the system? One or two?

--- 5 MINUTES LATER ---

Oh no! It didn't quite work out after all. My second renewal was rejected automatically and has been paid back!
Please advise.

--- 5 minutes after that ---

Oh. I didn't read the headline correctly. The difference between one and two years was paid back.
Very nifty! So everything is fine after all. Thanks everyone. I guess this whole thing would have been impossible without two-way communication - until the 2y renewal option becomes available on the site.
