Hi Pat,
The thought behind an MT propeller is that it is composite and consequently much lighter than either the Hartzell or the Mac props. Neither of those companies have shown much if any interest in this technology atleast where the little guys are concerned. Their attitude has been take it or leave it and they have been steadfastly "crusty". Of course that could change if they see competition from another manufacturer.
Given that there are still a lot of old hartzells out there that are subject to continuing inspection on 180/250's this seems a viable approach. Getting 30 lbs off the nose of the a/c is an added benefit.
