Gear-Solenoid breaker trips after about 2 minutes

Postby Woody Vashaw » Wed May 07, 2008 3:18 pm

Gear up light problem: When retracting the gear in flight, the gear up light illuminates for about 2 minutes and the solenoid breaker (5 amps) trips. The 30 amp motor breaker is OK. On jacks, the gear up light does not trip and the gear does not seem to be binding in any way. It all seems to work normally.
Again, in flight, the 5 amp breaker pops after about 2 minutes after the gear is retracted. When the breaker is reset, the gear extends normally.
Question? What should be the position of the emergency handle in the full up position? Should it be lying almost flat on the floor? Mine is not flat but at a slight angle and if you pull the extender, is is about 1 inch above the fuel selector plastic.
I'm trying to find out why the 5 amp breaker is triping.

gear issues

Howard, I don't know how to help you. I have a 250 and my landing gear emergency extension is perfectly flat against the floor when gear is up and I am flying.

I use Webco for my landing gear issues. Good Luck.

I am posting since there is so little history for you to search now and just wanting to make you know you are not alone but with the new forum there is not much activity yet.

You can also email Bill Creech from this site I think his title is technical adviser.
