Suggestions

I hope you don't mind if I offer some suggestions based on my experience. I hope you find them helpful.

1. Post a notice on the main website to give members a clue of what going on.
2. Take advantage of this event to re-org the forum. Having separate forum for each topic isn't proper protocol and ends up makes the list of forums to choose from tooooo long. Example just have one forum titled "classified ads". Clean and simple.
3. Upgrade software. This version is over 3 years old. The latest release of PhpBB is 3.0.1 is secure and free.
4. Organize the web site & forums to drive up membership.

Hope this helps!
:)

Hi ???

Actually, the website has just been moved and most of the ideas you mention are already on the drawing board. I agree about not making too many topics. You should have seen the old forum, it had twice as many as there are now. I feel the breakdown in the maintenance area is necessary. It makes it easer to find information on a particular subject. There is also an "Classifieds" on the main web page. Within the next few weeks I plan to either upgrade this forum or maybe replace it.

Dave,
C'mon guys, give us old slow typers a break.
I type about 60wpm but need a sec to gather my thoughts sometimes....maybe a minute at most.....and the reply window goes blank indicating I have "timed out".
I usually don't reenter the message and I suspect others are the same way so we are losing many responses to our converesations.
Lengthen the time limit, please.

Steen,
It must be something on your computer. I have never had a reply box time out??? I have been on this site on so many different computers, all around the world with different languages and settings I figure if there was a problem I would have found it. Are your messages getting closed out before you cand send and the computer keeps the page open or is the computer shutting down your browser or something like that? I would bet that you have an internal issue with your particular computer that is fighting the site.

Greetings Steen

Likewise, it never times out for me either and I will sometimes go make a cup of coffee while writing a answer. I will try to figure out what the problem is and get back to you Steen.
