What you have in COF, as far as the contratemps are concerned, is one old lion who likes to roar. Then there are a number of circus clowns who like to poke sticks at the lion, to make him roar some more. Some of the clowns play the innocent, and some are fairly brazen. I try to avoid the cirrus. Like you Scott, I am weary of the roaring. However, I spread the blame around. The lion occasionally has something wise to say. Not all the clowns can claim that.

Dale's Comanche Owners Forum

Well, the purpose of COF is straight forward, and the rules quite clear. I frankly got tired of the ongoing nonsense, and the fact that the rules were not enforced. I expressed myself by resigning from participating. Perhaps if others also did the same the administrator would reign in those that cant behave in a respectful manner. The truth is, for those looking for Comanche support, it is all right here. I know that Dale is a respected ICS member, and has contributed greatly. But some of the stuff that goes on in the forum is not productive, makes us look bad as a type club, and is self defeating to the underlying purpose of us being in an organization in the first place.

As owners of aging airplanes, we all need to work together to keep these airplanes flying. We need volunteers, people willing to contribute, people capable of making things happen. If you disagree with ICS, you need to get involved, participate and work to change things. There is no value to just sitting in front of your computer, bashing ICS and the people that keep it running.

Sorry for the rant. I am one of the younger folks that plans on having my airplane for a long time, and get discouraged when I see fellow owners behave in a way that suggests they don't care.

At least you were welcomed here and on COF, Scott. As a new CPA forum member, I was summarily shot for admitting I run ROP under a RAM STC.

No welcome for me over there!
